System components and installation
The device consists of several components that are installed and hidden discreetly in the vehicle. First, the radar receiver unit will be installed in the vehicle's front. For this purpose, providing well behind the grill or bumper, the device is small, black and totally unremarkable. As another part of the system, a GPS receiver must be mounted by the antenna unit, as this can be secured in the region of the sun visor and provides the reception of the GPS signal. Both of these receivers are connected to the so-called interface with cables. This interface is the central unit for example to be mounted under the steering wheel in a hidden way. At this interface, the small display and the settings unit can be connected. Both the display as well as the settings unit are as small as an USB stick and should be accessible and visible positioned in the cockpit area. The ideal solution here depends on the particular vehicle conditions as well as your personal preferences. Finally, it's still connected to the active speaker and a light emitting diode, both give an alarm in the acoustic and optical signals.

Naturally, the mechanic will first discuss with you personally about various possibilities of assembling so that you have a clear idea of how the solution will finally look like. The workshop is located in Heidelberg and you could make use of the time for sight-seeing. Many customers find this quite convenient. Difficulties may only arise in rare cases if, for example, the vehicle’s front area has less space for the BEL STiR-Plus GPS, or disassembling of auto body components alone would take several hours requiring special tools.
